Eric Morrissette is chief public policy 0fficer at the Community Development Bankers Association, where he leads policy strategy and advocacy on behalf of community development financial institutions and mission-driven depository institutions.
Eric joined us from the office of Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, where he as deputy secretary and helped shape the state's economic development and poverty-reduction agenda. Before that, he was in senior roles at the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, the Federal Reserve Board, and the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he served as deputy assistant secretary for legislative and intergovernmental affairs — advancing successful passage of the CHIPS and Science Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Inflation Reduction Act. He also served as chief of staff to the deputy secretary and acting under secretary of commerce.
Eric is a senior fellow at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies and an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy. He holds a master's degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University.
