Melanee Woodard began her career at Industrial Bank in 1999 as the financial assistant to the chief financial officer, and later moved into the bank’s marketing department, where she now serves as vice president and strategic marketing manager. She implements and oversees marketing initiatives and campaigns, managing the bank’s marketing budget and working with senior leadership to produce data-driven reports that inform product development and measure profitability. She was awarded the bank’s Beacon of Excellence award in 2012.
Melanee passion to serve the community where she grew up is evident in her contributions to the bank’s financial education programs and her volunteer work with several nonprofits and government programs in her native Washington, D.C., including the Mayor’s Office on Returning Citizens Affairs, the D.C Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking, and the D.C. Department of Corrections. Melanee was instrumental in developing the bank’s program to teach financial empowerment skills to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated persons. She serves as board member and treasurer for Transformation Pathway, which assists families impacted by incarceration; as board member for Kaizen Life Skills, an organization assisting youth with social development; and as board member for Damascus House Community Development Corp., which guides returning citizens through the transition process to lead productive lives. In 2023, the Women of Prince Georges County in Maryland awarded Melanee the Community Service Leader award.
Melanee is also a member of the Community Development Bankers Association’s Marketing and Impact Analysis peer group.
